Royal Wedding - what and when.

kate and william royal wedding

Only a few days to the royal wedding! Will you be celebrating the day - as it is a holiday or because it is a royal wedding??
Either way, unless you live on a remote island with no contact with the outside world, you will probably see what is happening with the the latest royal wedding for decades in some form...well, one we mostly agree with...ahem!
Reports of what will happens when, how, who is providing what and who has thrown their toys out of the pram for not being invited to the occasion in widely reported. So here is Beau Dame's run down so far for you -

- An estimated two billion people across the world will watch Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey.

- Flowers - provided by the royal estates, with "an avenue of trees" featured along aisles to altar. The avenue contains six English field maples to symbolise humility and reserve, and at least two Hornbeam trees to acknowledge resilience.

- The general congregation arrive at the Great North Door of Westminster Abbey at 8.45am until the fly-past by the Royal Air Force and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at 1.30pm. Full schedule here.

- Seating - The Queen and the Royal Family will sit in the North Lantern across the aisle from the Middleton family, who will be in the South Lantern.

- Evening before the day - Kate will be spending the night before at the Belgravia hotel. Kate's mother Carole and sister Pippa with her, who is also her maid of honour.

- Kates transport to the church -  in the same Rolls-Royce Phantom VI car  damaged during the student protests last year. After the ceremony the couple are likely to parade past crowds in an open-topped horse-drawn carriage but if it rains they will use the Royal Glass Coach.

- Guest list - only current prime ministers please..ahem! 1,900 guests from many areas (see foot of this page)

- Engagement ring - William has given the sapphire and diamond jewel ring famously worn by his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, rumoured that it is being made smaller to fit Kate.

- Coat of arms - a dedicated coat of arms has been designed. We will see in time.

- Music - music for the event has been composed in advance. The Abbey's choir and the Chapel Royal Choir will perform singing duties, with the London Chamber Orchestra and Fanfare Team from the Central Band of the RAF.

- Best man, bridesmaids, etc. - Prince Harry is to be best man, Kate's younger sister Pippa is maid of honour with friends and young relatives to be bridesmaids and page boys.
- Bridal procession - both will walk down the aisle, taking around three-and-a-half minutes, arriving at the Great West Door, Kate and her father will pause briefly at the Sir Winston Churchill memorial stone.

- Wedding gifts - both have asked to donate to charity instead of wedding gifts.

- Royal titles - still in speculation, but they could become the Duke and Duchess of Clarence, Cambridge or Sussex.
